Westgate Punt

The Westgate Punt is a ferry service that runs between Spotswood Jetty and Westgate Landing in Port Melbourne.

The service provides pedestrians and cyclists with an easy and stress-free way to get across the Yarra River without travelling via the Westgate Bridge.  

Cyclists can even take their bikes on board the ferry and make full use of popular cycling paths that run from Port Melbourne into the city.

Spotswood Jetty is located on Douglas Parade, near the corner of Craig Street, and is a short walk from Spotswood Station.

Westgate Landing is located on Lorimer Street, near the corner of Sardine Street. Bus routes 235 and 237 stop nearby on Lorimer Street and run into the city.  

The ferry service runs every 20 minutes on weekdays between 6.30am and 9.20am, and between 4pm and 6.50pm.

The fare is $2 one way on weekdays.

On weekends and public holidays, the Westgate Punt  runs between 9am and 5pm, with crossings at a regular on-demand basis.
The fare is $5 one way, or $7 return, on weekends.

The Westgate Punt is not a myki ticketed service.

The Westgate Punt does not operate on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or Good Friday.
