Buses replace trains between Parliament, Caulfield and Westall from first service to 9pm on Tuesday 15 April, due to Metro Tunnel works. For more information, click here.

To City:

  • Change at Westall for a replacement bus stopping at Parliament, or for a stopping all stations bus to Caulfield. ​
  • Change at Parliament for City Loop trains.​
  • Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Hughesdale, Oakleigh, Huntingdale and Clayton passengers, take a replacement bus to Caulfield. Change at Caulfield for a train to the City. ​
  • Passengers boarding trains to the City at Caulfield, can change at Richmond or Flinders Street for City Loop services.​

From City:

  • Buses operate between Parliament and Westall, change at Westall for a train service to Cranbourne Pakenham.​
  • Passengers at City stations take a train to Parliament. Change at Parliament for a replacement bus to Westall. ​
  • Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Hughesdale, Oakleigh, Huntingdale and Clayton passengers take a Frankston train to Caulfield, change for a stopping all stations bus service to Westall.​

Note a changed timetable will run on the Cranbourne Pakenham lines.​

Also, trains will run after 9pm Monday 14 April and Tuesday 15 April, and all day Wednesday 16 April​. Allow extra time.

Swan Street

Exit Richmond Station onto Swan Street, turn left and the designated bus stop is in 10 metres.

Swan Street

Exit Richmond Station on to Swan Street and turn right. Cross Swan Street at the tram stop and turn left, the designated bus stop is in 5 metres.

South Yarra

Yarra Street and Toorak Road

Exit South Yarra Station onto Toorak Road, turn left and cross at Yarra Street. Proceed to the designated bus stop in 60 metres.

Yarra Street and Toorak Road

Exit South Yarra Station onto Toorak Road, turn left and cross at Yarra Street. Proceed to the designated bus stop in 60 metres.

Hawksburn

At the Metro Designated Bus Stop near corner Gordon Street and Williams Road

Exit Hawksburn Station on to Luxton St, turn left and proceed to Williams Rd. Turn left and proceed to the pedestrian crossing in 180 meters. Cross Williams Rd, turn right and proceed to designated bus stop in 30 metres.

At the Metro designated bus stop near the Railway Bridge in Williams Street

Exit Hawksburn Station on to Luxton St, turn left, proceed to Williams Rd. Turn left and proceed to the designated bus stop in 60 metres.

Toorak

At the Regular bus stop near the corner of Orrong and Malvern Roads

Exit Toorak Station on to Beatty Ave, turn left and proceed to Malvern Rd. Turn left, proceed to Orrong Rd and cross Orrong Rd at the pedestrian crossing. Turn left and proceed to the designated bus stop in 40 metres.

At the Regular bus stop near the corner of Orrong and Malvern Roads

Exit Toorak Station on to Beatty Ave, turn left and proceed to Malvern Rd. Turn left, proceed to Orrong Rd, turn left and proceed to the designated bus stop in 60 metres.

Armadale

Kooyong Road

Exit Armadale Station on to Cheel Street. Turn left and walk approximately 150m to Kooyong Road. Carefully cross Kooyong Road and walk to bus stop, in front of Cheel Street.

Kooyong Road

Exit Armadale Station on to Cheel Street. Turn left and walk approximately 150m to Kooyong Road. Turn left at Kooyong Road and walk to bus stop on rail bridge, in front of pedestrian crossing

Malvern

Dandenong Road

Exit Malvern Station toward Dandenong Road, turn right and follow the pedestrian path to Glenferrie Road. Turn right and proceed to the designated bus stop in 20 metres.

Dandenong Road

Exit Malvern Station toward Dandenong Road, turn right and follow the pedestrian path to Glenferrie Road. Turn left and proceed to Dandenong Road, cross Dandenong Road at the pedestrian crossing. Turn left and proceed to the designated bus stop in 25 metres.

Caulfield

Normanby Road

Exit Caulfield Station on to Normanby Road. Turn right and proceed to bus stop in 50 metres.

Normanby Road

Exit Caulfield Station on to Normanby Road. Turn right and proceed to bus stop in 50 metres.

Carnegie

Koornang Road

From Carnegie Station, walk on to Koornang Road and proceed to the bus stop near the station entrance.

Koornang Road

Exit Carnegie Station on to Koornang Road, cross Koornang Road, turn left and proceed to the bus stop in 30 metres.

Murrumbeena

Neerim Road

Exit Murrumbeena Station on to Neerim Road and turn right. Cross Neerim Road at pedestrian crossing and turn right. Proceed to Metro designated bus stop, located next to laneway.

Neerim Road

Exit Murrumbeena Station on to Neerim Road and turn right. Proceed to bus stop, located past the pedestrian crossing.

Hughesdale Poath Road

Exit Hughesdale Station on to Poath Road. At the pedestrian crossing, cross Poath Road and turn right towards the bus stop.

Poath Road

Exit Hughesdale Station on to Poath Road. Proceed to the bus stop at the front of the station entrance.

Oakleigh Haughton Road, Oakleigh Station Entrance

Exit Oakleigh Station on to Haughton Road. Turn left and proceed to bus stop, located in front of station entrance.

Haughton Road

Exit Oakleigh Station on to Haughton Road at the pedestrian crossing. Cross Haughton Road and turn left. Proceed to Metro designated bus stop, approximately 20 metres.

Huntingdale

Huntingdale Road

Exit Huntingdale Station towards the car park/bus interchange. Cross the bus interchange at the pedestrian crossing, turn left proceed to the bus stop.

Huntingdale Road

Exit Huntingdale Station towards the car park/Bus interchange. Cross the bus interchange at the pedestrian crossing, turn right proceed to the designated bus stop just outside the bus interchange on Huntingdale Road.

Clayton

Carinish Road

Exit Clayton Station, turn right on to Carinish Road and use pedestrian crossing to cross Carinish Road. Turn right on to Carinish Road, safely cross Mary Street and proceed to Metro designated bus stop.

Exit Clayton Station, turn right on to Carinish Road and proceed to Metro designated bus stop.

Westall

Rayhur Street, Westall Station Entrance

Exit Westall Station on to Rayhur Street and proceed to Metro designated bus stop on the right located in front of station entrance.

Rayhur Street, Westall Station Entrance

Exit Westall Station on to Rayhur Street and proceed to Metro designated bus stop on the right located in front of station entrance.

Travelling on rail-replacement bus services

Passengers with accessibility needs are advised to contact their local train station in advance or ask staff at the replacement bus stops to organise travel.

For the safety and comfort of all passengers, there are restrictions on what you may take with you on buses.

You cannot:

  • Take a conventional bike on a bus or tram (only folding bikes that meet the size criteria).
  • Take an animal on a bus or tram unless it is in a suitable container. Exceptions apply for assistance dogs.
  • Take a surfboard on a tram or a bus.
