As part of Victoria’s Big Build, work on the West Gate Tunnel Project is progressing to widen the West Gate Freeway from 8 to 12 lanes and build the new bike veloway above Footscray Road. The Metro Tunnel’s five new stations – Arden, Parkville, State Library, Town Hall and Anzac – are taking shape with 3 of the 5 now complete, and test trains continue to run through the tunnel.

We’re continuing to remove dangerous and congested level crossings, while upgrade works are underway across the south east as part of Big Build Roads.

Tunnelling is now underway on North East Link and we’re getting ready to upgrade the Eastern Freeway and M80 Ring Road. We’re also preparing for tunnelling and underground station excavation on Suburban Rail Loop East, while Yarra Trams track renewal will take place on various routes across the tram network.
