Getting to and from the Footy Festival

2024 AFL Footy Festival – Wednesday 25 to Saturday 28 September 2024

The AFL Footy Festival returns to Yarra Park precinct from Wednesday September 25 to Saturday September 28. This year’s festival includes player appearances, giveaways, music, food trucks and bars. The festival runs from 10am to 10pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 9am to 10pm on Friday for the Grand Final parade.

Public transport services will be running to and from the MCG Precinct, with services running to a Saturday timetable on the Grand Final Eve Public Holiday Friday 27 September.

From first service Wednesday 25 September to last service Saturday 28 September, the Free Tram Zone will be extended from the city to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The additional stops included in the Extended Free Tram Zone are:

Metropolitan train services will run to and from Jolimont Station to connect passengers with the Footy Festival at Yarra Park.

Services also run via Richmond Station for patrons wishing to walk via the MCG Concourse to connect with Yarra Park.

Passengers can also transfer to services via Jolimont Station at Flinders Street Station.

Getting to and from Yarra Park

Route 75

  • Passengers can board trams running to and from Stop 11 Jolimont Station/ Wellington Parade.

Route 48

  • Passengers can board trams running to and from Stop 11 Jolimont Station/ Wellington Parade.

Route 70

  • Passengers can board trams running to and from Stop 7c MCG/ John Cain Arena or 7b Rod Laver Arena and walk to Yarra Park via the MCG Concourse.
