Train services on New Year’s Eve
Services on New Year’s Eve will operate to a Tuesday timetable, until the first timetable services on Wednesday 1 January 2025.
From 8pm to 11.30pm on New Year’s Eve, all lines will operate at a 10-20-minute frequency.
From 12.15am to 2.30am on Wednesday 1 January 2025, the following frequencies will apply to the lines below:
- Mernda every 6 minutes
- Hurstbridge every 6 minutes
- Lilydale every 6 minutes
- Belgrave every 6 minutes
- Alamein every 20 minutes,
- Glen Waverley every 6 minutes
- Pakenham every 4 – 5 minutes
- Cranbourne every 20 minutes
- Frankston every 7 – 8 minutes
- Sandringham every 7 – 8 minutes
- Williamstown every 20 minutes
- Werribee every 7 – 8 minutes (via the Altona Loop)
- Sunbury every 7 minutes
- Craigieburn every 7 minutes
- Upfield every 15 minutes
From 2.30am to 3.30am, all lines will operate to a 20-minute frequency, connecting with outer services to:
- Alamein via Camberwell
- Cranbourne via Dandenong
- Williamstown via Newport
Please note, all services to Werribee will operate via the Altona Loop.
From 3.30am until the first service on Wednesday 1 January 2025, all lines will operate to a 30-minute frequency, connecting with outer services to:
- Alamein via Camberwell
- Cranbourne via Dandenong
- Williamstown via Newport

From first service on Wednesday 1 January 2025, services will run to a Saturday timetable.
