Extra trams for special events

We’re running extra trams for the below events during June and July. While trams run to their normal frequency, times may differ due to traffic congestion around event venues. Please allow extra time for your journey.

  • Sunday 30 June at 3.20pm - AFL Rd 16, Richmond v Carlton.

  • Sunday 07 July at 1.10pm - AFL Rd 17, Melbourne v West Coast Eagles. 
  • Friday 12 July at 7.40pm - AFL Rd 18, Collingwood v Geelong. 
  • Saturday 13 July at 7.30pm - AFL Rd 18, Melbourne v Essendon. 
  • Sunday 14 July at 3.20pm - AFL Rd 18, Richmond v GWS Giants. 
  • Saturday 20 July at 4.35pm - AFL Rd 19, Hawthorn v Collingwood. 
  • Saturday 27 July at 7.30pm - AFL Rd 20, Melbourne v GWS Giants. 
  • Sunday 28 July at 1.10pm - AFL Rd 20, Collingwood v Richmond.

Extra tram services run as Route 70a between Flinders Street Station and Stop 7C MCG Gates 4-7/John Cain Arena or as Route 75a between Flinders Street Station and Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG.

Passengers at Southern Cross Station can reach Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG by using Route 48 trams on Collins Street.

Extra trams running along Flinders Street to the above events will be accessible low-floor trams, depending on availability.

Melbourne Showgrounds 

  • Saturday 13 July and Sunday 14 July from 9am daily - Convention, Metro Comic Con. 

Extra tram services run as Route 57a between Flinders Street Station and Stop 32 Sandown Road.
