Sleeping transactions: scan to wake up

Topped up more than 30 days ago and haven’t touched on since? Your myki Money top up, auto top up or myki Pass is sleeping.

It’s still on our system, and you don’t need to buy it or set it up again. But before you can use it, you will need to scan your myki to wake it up.

How to wake sleeping myki Money top up, auto top up or myki Pass

  1. Scan your myki to wake your sleeping top up, auto top up or myki Pass

Where to scan:
- PTV app
- myki machine
- myki ticket office windows or retailers
- myki Quick Top Up machine

 

  2. After scanning, your myki Money top up, auto top up or myki Pass will be ready to touch on next time you travel

  3. Top up awake, you’re ready to travel

How to scan a myki

   Scanning is different from touching on. You can’t scan on trains, trams, or buses.

In person

Present myki to a:

· myki machine (once card details have loaded, remove from machine)

· premium station ticket office

· myki retailer

Via the PTV app

1. Select "myki" from the navigation bar

2. Tap "Scan myki - Check balance"

3. Hold your myki to the device and follow the instructions

Download the PTV app

   Once the scan is complete, you can touch on to travel.
