A new bus network for Gisborne

From 15 December, a more flexible bus network is coming to Gisborne with more services and improved coverage of new estates and more schools.

Routes 473 and 474 will become routes 73 and 74, and form a new two-way bus loop around Gisborne. Passengers will be able to catch a bus in either direction without pre-booking.

A dedicated pre-booked Route 77 service will travel between Bullengarook and Gisborne Station via the town centre and have more services throughout the day and on weekends.

To plan your journey, download the PTV app, use the Journey Planner or check your timetables.

The Gisborne Town School Special will be replaced by the new two-way public bus loop, doubling the seats available during school travel time.

All passengers can purchase paper tickets on the bus with the driver using cash or card for single trips or a daily, weekly, or monthly pass.
