New bus service for Lucas in Ballarat
From Sunday 23 February 2025, Route 10 will extend to Lucas, providing the growing area with public transport for the first time.
Lucas residents can catch Route 10 to connect to Wendouree Station, Ballarat Station and other transport services, making it easy to get to shops, work and other key destinations in Ballarat.
Route 10 will become more direct and no longer go through the Alfredton and Ballarat town centre loops.
Passengers heading to Ballarat town centre can transfer from Route 10 to other services at Ballarat Station. Bus routes 12, 14, 15, 20, 21, 25 and 26 go from Ballarat Station to the town centre.
Passengers who catch Route 10 from the Alfredton loop can:
- catch Route 10 from Sturt Street and Dyson Drive near Coltman Plaza, or
- catch Route 26 from Cuthberts Road.
Route 10 will have a new timetable and maintain connections with trains at Ballarat Station.

Planned disruption at Ballarat Station
Due to Ballarat Station upgrade works, from Thursday 30 January 2025 to 2026, bus routes 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 25, 26 and 30 will not service Ballarat Station Bus Interchange.
There will be alternative pick-up and drop-off locations for these routes at Ballarat Station:
- Pick-up will be located just south of the rail line on Lydiard Street North
- Drop-off will be located just north of the rail line on Lydiard Street North.
Signage and wayfinding will be installed around the area to guide passengers to and from the temporary stops.
