April 2025 regional timetable change
From 13 April 2025, a new regional timetable will begin on the Ballarat, Ararat and Bendigo lines.
From 14 April 2025, a new regional timetable will begin on the Warrnambool Line.
The timetable delivers 50 new weekend train services across Victoria, with bus and coach changes to better match train timetables.
There will be new timetables for 27 bus routes connecting with Ballarat Line trains, with 662 new weekend bus trips added to the network.

Train changes
Ballarat Line changes
- 33 new weekend services will be added to the Ballarat Line, with trains running every 40 minutes between 8 am and 9 pm on weekends.
- A small number of train services will have increased journey times of one to three minutes.
- 27 bus routes will have new timetables to better connect with Ballarat Line trains throughout the week. On weekends, 662 extra one-way bus trips will be added to the network. More information is available at the end of this article.
Ararat Line changes
- Eight new weekend services will be added to the Ararat Line, including a late-night service from Melbourne to Ararat.
- Some train services will have small journey time changes.
Bendigo Line changes
- Five new weekend services will be added to the Bendigo Line, including late-night trains from Melbourne to Bendigo.
- Five Bendigo services will switch to 6-car VLocity trains instead of 3-car trains, providing more seats on the Bendigo Line.
- There will be changes to which services stop at Macedon and Malmsbury stations on Saturdays after 9 pm. Passengers need to check their timetable before travelling.
Warrnambool Line changes
- Four new weekend services will be added to the Warrnambool Line.
- All services on the Warrnambool Line will be operated by VLocity trains. 24 services (12 return services) across the week will change to VLocity trains, reducing journey times by up to 11 minutes between Waurn Ponds and Southern Cross stations.
- All seats on Warrnambool Line services can be reserved. Bookings can be made at vline.com.au, at a staffed V/Line station or premium Metro station, by calling 1800 800 007 or by visiting a retail ticket agent. Passengers should book a seat before they travel.
- Two Marshall trains will be extended to Waurn Ponds Station every weekday morning, giving passengers in Waurn Ponds more travel options.
- The first weekend service from Southern Cross to Warrnambool will now depart at 8:05 am (previously 7:34 am), every Saturday and Sunday and have a journey time increase of 23 minutes.
- The Timboon to Camperdown bus will have a timetable change. The service connects with Warrnambool Line trains at Camperdown Station. More information is available at the end of this article.

Bus changes
Timetables for routes 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 30 and 31 will be available on the PTV app and journey planner from late March 2025.
