A PTV unit where students explore a range of ethical issue (or one) relating to public transport. The unit content will explore the extent of ethical obligations in our society and the implications for thinking about consequences and duties in decision-making and action.
Students will be presented with an ethical framework to structure their inquiry and gather evidence to support the various viewpoints.

The TrackSAFE Education website offers modern and historical rail safety videos as well as various rail safety posters. It also presents facts about train speeds and frequencies, as well as personal and social effects of dangerous train travel.

A PTV unit where students explore the science behind and the impact of heat on rail lines. The unit examines the physical changes resulting from high temperatures and explores the engineering and technological measures in place to mitigate the impact of heat-affected lines. Students design a poster, web page or other communications to educate young people about the topic.

A PTV unit where students identify and research a public transport safety issue. Using recent campaigns as models, they consider elements such as visual, emotive and figurative language, similes, humour, catchy music and themes and determine the key messages/elements of the campaign.
Finally, they create a slogan and key messaging and use it in a persuasive text e.g. a billboard, a series of text messages, a television advertisement.

A TrackSAFE Education unit using the concept of rail safety and the setting of the rail network to explore character, roles and situations with a particular focus on bullying and the bystander effect. Learning opportunities for students include scripting, performing and revising their own drama.

A PTV unit where students create a brief for an app to plan and book their journey on public transport, including a safety feature. Students create a set of design specifications, including illustrations, to show functionality.
