roads Road disruptions

Long queues are expected on the Princes Freeway and roads surrounding Avalon Airport. If you must drive, be prepared for long delays.

The Avalon Airshow will be running Park and Ride services for the first time to get people to and from the main gate. Park your car and follow the signage to the waiting shuttle buses.

There is no free parking. Parking passes must be pre-purchased ($35 to $65). Please follow the instructions on your ticket instead of using navigation apps to reach the carpark.

Travel to onsite carpark

  • Take the Lara - Avalon Road exit (not Avalon Airport exit).
  • Travel along Avalon Road and follow the event road signs to enter the Avalon Event Site via Gates 6 & 7 on Pousties Road.

If you're driving between Melbourne and Geelong please allow extra time for your journey, as delays are expected on the freeway and roads near the event. Consider catching the train or detouring via the Western Freeway and Bacchus Marsh.

The road and public transport network will be busy so allow extra time for your journey. If using public transport, plan ahead at ptv.vic.gov.au/avalonairshow.
