Regional bus tickets
If you’re travelling on a regional bus, you need a myki or a bus paper ticket. There are three types of paper tickets, Category A, Category B and PTV Daily tickets. You should purchase a PTV daily ticket if you wish to take advantage of the regional fare cap, to avoid paying extra.
Town bus travel is also included with your myki or V/Line paper ticket or eTicket if you’re travelling to or from some regional stations.
- For a full list of regional bus fares, see the Victorian regional bus fares supplement (PDF) 3.6 MB or call 1800 800 007.

myki is used if you're travelling on:
- Town buses in Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat, Bendigo, Bellarine Peninsula, Churchill, Eildon, Geelong, Kilmore, Mornington Peninsula, Seymour, Wallan and Warragul.
- Latrobe Valley intertown buses.
It's best to buy and top up your myki before travelling.
You only need to use a myki on regional buses if you are not travelling outside of the myki boundary. If you are travelling beyond the myki boundary to an area that requires paper tickets, you should not touch on your myki.

- Bairnsdale, Benalla, Cobram, Colac, Drouin, Echuca/Moama, Gisborne, Hamilton, Horsham, Korumburra, Kyneton, Lakes Entrance, Maryborough, Mildura, Portland, Rochester, Sale, Shepparton/Mooroopna, Swan Hill, Wangaratta, Warrnambool, Wodonga/Albury, Wonthaggi and Yarrawonga.
